Medical Services

The Department of Respiratory Medicine of Chiba University Hospital has specialized outpatient clinics for various lung diseases. Our mission is to provide high-quality, advanced and safe medical services for all the patients. Cooperating with other medical and co-medical staff, we provide comprehensive medical care for refractory lung disease patients. We are conducting clinical and basic research programs and educational activities to develop the next generation of respiratory medicine.

Target Diseases

• Interstitial lung diseases:
  idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), hypersensitivity pneumonitis, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP), lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM), drug-induced interstitial pneumonia, etc.
• Thoracic malignancies:
  lung cancer, mesothelioma, mediastinal tumors, etc
• Pulmonary hypertension:
  pulmonary arterial hypertension, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, etc.
• Pulmonary vascular diseases:
  arteriovenous malformation, pulmonary vascular abnormalities, etc.
• Obstructive lung diseases:
  chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diffuse panbronchiolitis (DPB), etc.
• Pulmonary allergic diseases:
  bronchial asthma, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, etc.
• Respiratory infection:
  viral and bacterial pneumonia, non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection, fungal diseases, etc.
• Sleep disorders: sleep apnea. etc.
• Lung transplant indication diseases
