The Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Chiba University Hospital is part of the academic Department of Internal Medicine and is dedicated to providing high-quality patient care, resident training and high level research. We are leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic conditions including bronchial asthma, food allergies and anaphylaxis and connective tissue diseases including SLE, RA, PM/DM, SSc, etc. Our services are maintained by nine consultant clinical immunologists and fourteen specialist registrars. Our faculty is on the leading edge of immunological research and is committed to providing patients with the best in patient care and treatment.

Target Diseases

Allergic diseases:
bronchial asthma, food allergy, anaphylaxis, hypereosinophilic syndrome, oral allergy syndrome, allergic bronchopulmonary mycosis, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg-Strauss syndrome), hypersensitivity pneumonitis, eosinophilic pneumonia

Connective tissue diseases:
rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, polymyositis-dermatomyositis, mixed connective tissue disease, polyarteritis nodosa, Sjogren's syndrome, microscopic polyangiitis, Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's granulomatosis), Behcet's disease, Takayasu's arteritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, reactive arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, adult-onset Still's disease, antiphospholipid syndrome, eosinophilic fasciitis, fever of unknown origin
